Dear Sir

I felt compelled to write to you regarding the ongoing dispute regarding the withdrawal of the bus route around Greenfield Way, does the gentleman who wrote the original correspondance have any idea what it must be like to an elderly or infirm person having to walk that few extra hundred metres to the nearest bus stop, especially in adverse weather conditions! I live just off Greenfield way and my 70 year old mother used to visit me often when the bus stopped outside the school, however now due to arthritis this “short distance” from the bus stop that the gentleman advised of is too far for her to walk in her condition.

Does the gentleman not also take into account how vulnerable people feel when walking such a distance on dark nights. It would be very interesting to see what Arriva’s reaction would be should somebody take the initiative and actually start a small bus service around the areas that they have withdrawn from, after all 300 signatures on a petition can’t be wrong!
