The Rotary Club were delighted with the support received for the Community Jubilee Draw involving 29 town organisation all selling tickets for their own charity or funds. Heighington Village got on board to raise cash to provide facilities at the Village Sports Field and raised nearly £2,000. Smaller groups benefitted from this welcome injection of cash to help their finances and this was the object of the exercise. The Rotary Club wanted to support local groups who are facing difficult times.
They organised everything including obtaining the prizes and organising the tickets and draw. All the groups needed to do was sell tickets and retain 75% of the sales. The draw took place at the British Legion on 5th June and our Mayor Val Raw drew the winning tickets. This was a very successful social occasion with Bingo, Tombola, live entertainmnet by Jenna Highfield and Scott Munro who gave their services free for this event.
