Work is set to start on a year-long schedule of improvements at Woodham Academy.
The school have received £600,000 from the Education Funding Agency to repair the roof on a number of buildings on the site including the main hall and the Learning Centre.
Contractors, Hodgson Sayers who have previously worked with the Academy, will be carrying out the work due to start at half term and continue until September. The roof work is designed to protect the school facilities and improve insulation to increase heating efficiency.
Further maintenance work as part of the funding bid include water improvements. Work on the school’s water system will increase water quality and improve the flow and efficiency of water. Work will begin in the summer term and is set to last until the autumn.
