‘All Change’, a spectacular open-air show in Bishop Auckland, marked the official start of S&DR200 festival on Saturday 29th March 2025. The event sped through 200 years of railway history and major historical moments from the Industrial Revolution and two World Wars to the present, celebrating the transformative power of trains on the landscape and our lives. Inspired by conversations with local historians, the spectacle brought history to life with large-scale set pieces, projection mapping, original music and a fleet of 400 drones from world-renowned SkyMagic, creating a breathtaking visual experience set against the night sky.
The show was made possible with the support of 140 local volunteers, including 60 performers. ‘All Change’ was created by award-winning performance company imitating the dog and movement directors Rocky Norton and Katie Pearson.
