Medals galore at Harrogate Gala again where 9 swimmers represented Sedgefield 75 Swimming Club at The Hydro pool at Harrogate in the A Grade Summer Meet Gala in June. Charlie McEwan, Charlotte & Kathryn Lee, Ethan and Katelyn Craig, Matthew Wimbury, Oliver Turnbull, Emma Price and Chloe Harding competed in 52 races over the course of the weekend. They all had a very successful weekend and between them they achieved 36 Personal Best times, 19 Medals and 3 Speeding Tickets. Emma Price brought home 9 Gold medals and 3 speeding tickets, Kathryn Lee – 1 silver, Matthew Wimbury – 2 Gold, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze and Katelyn Craig – 2 Bronze. Fantastic results from all swimmers yet again.

Medals galore also for our 2 masters swimmers. Elisabeth Yaneski retained her 50m and 400m titles taking gold in both events at the Masters competition at the weekend. Matthew Bradley won 7 gold and a silver in his 8 races. Brilliant results proving that with the correct training winning isn’t just for the younger club members!

Finally in a busy month for the club we are delighted that our swimmers along with Chief Coach John Moore raised £1,800 at the sponsored swim. From the youngest swimmers to the oldest everyone played their part in achieving this amazing sum. Thanks to all swimmers and to everyone who sponsored them. The money is to be divided between the swimming club, St Teresa’s Hospice and Cancer Research UK.
