Horndale Community Association estimate 1,500 people attended our Fun Day held on Thursday 15th August, the crowds enjoyed Petting Zoo, Crazy Critters, Pony Rides, Professor Nincompoop, Bouncy Castle, Trampolines, Inflatable Slide, Face Painting, also displays by the Police, Fire Brigade, Army. Several local charities and health groups also joined us to advertise the great work they carry out across Newton Aycliffe.

A lot of work starting in February goes into organizing this event but seeing and hearing families enjoying themselves makes it all worthwhile.

Thank you to the committee and volunteers of HCA for their work before and during the event, also thank you to the following, without their support this great community event would have not happened: Greenfield Community College, Richard Agar (Bravura), Livin, Tesco, Durham Constabulary especially Aycliffe Beat Team, Great Aycliffe Town Council, Rotary Club, Phoenix Club, Newton Aycliffe County Councillors, Village Pharmacy, Heads Up Hair Dressing and Julie from West Cornforth who baked and donated pies and cakes after hearing about our event.

Some items of children’s clothing and a child’s bike were left on the field to collect email horndalestrongertogether@outlook.com these items will be donated to a local charity if not claimed within seven days.

Thank you

Philip Clark, Chair
