Aycliffe Dance Academy performed a jaw dropping performance of their dance show ‘Step Right Up’ on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th July.

130 students from the Academy took to the stage and performed live in three sell-out shows at Greenfield School in Newton Aycliffe. Children as young as 2½ up to adults took to the stage and performed 27 spectacular routines. The show featured a variety of dance styles such as Tap, Ballet, Street, Acrobatics, Modern, Musical Theatre and Cheerleading and was a huge success!

Alison, an audience member, said: ‘I just wanted to say what an amazing show “Step Right Up” was. I brought my two daughters last night and the three of us enjoyed every minute. The choreography was outstanding, the performers all looked like they were enjoying themselves so much and the costumes were fab. I have such a heart for dance and try to come to dance shows in the area, but I’ve got to say last night was my favourite! It was fantastic from start to finish, a massive well done to you all!’

Kelly Gray, a parent from ADA, said: ‘AMAZING! Emma, I thought last year’s show was un-beatable but you raised the bar again with “Step Right Up!” The tears were flowing and everyone was bursting with pride! You were all brilliant!!!’

Emma Cox, the Dance Principal, said: ‘I would just like to say a HUGE well done to all of my ADA Stars! I am bursting with pride and couldn’t be happier! Such an amazing show, such a great audience, such a fab team and such a super cast. We really are one big family, the best family around, we are the ADA family and I love you all!’

If you missed the Academy’s performance of ‘Step Right Up’ last month and you would like to see some of the highlights, they will be performing a selection of the routines again at this year’s Great Aycliffe Show. They will be performing in the Playhouse Marquee from 12noon to 1pm on Saturday 25th August and from 12.30pm to 1.30pm on Sunday 26th August. Everyone is welcome so please come along and show your support for your local dance school.
