One of the region’s favourite annual events has again proved to be a perfectly marvellous night. The St Teresa’s Hospice Annual Ball was held on Saturday 4th October at Sherwoods on Chesnut Street, which had become the Kit Kat Club for the evening in accordance with the theme of the night: Cabaret! And it truly was an evening of divine decadence, darling!
Over 260 guests came to hear the music play, and were treated to a Cabaret-themed menu, enjoyed the performance of the spectacular Royal Northern College of Music Session Orchestra, and danced the night away to the music of the Dean Solomon band.
An auction, casino, table game and a ‘guaranteed win’ raffle were also held to raise money for the regional charity. Hospice Director Jane Bradshaw said: “Cabaret has been a smashing success. Our annual Ball is one of the region’s favourite events, and I’m delighted that so many people continue to support it.
I’d like to thank our principal sponsors Sherwoods Group and Charles Clinkard, as well as all our other event sponsors, everyone who donated a prize for our raffle, and all our fabulous guests.
A massive ‘thank you’ to our dedicated volunteer committee who give up their free time to organise this marvellous event.” The Cabaret Ball is expected to raise over £12,000 for St Teresa’s Hospice.
