St Clare’s Church is pleased to announce that the Big Lottery has awarded them £10,000 to help towards the cost of replacing the roof on its premises. The new roof on the church and halls will cost a total of £65,000 and will be repaired in phases as money becomes available.
St. Clare’s, in the town centre acts as a focal point in the community and is home to uniformed organisations, slimming clubs, Helping Hands, Durham Foodbank as well as Kidsflicks, Messy Church and so much more.
The halls are used for one off events, Exhibitions, coffee mornings, Theatre productions etc. The church hope to raise enough money to ensure all those who use the facilities at St Clare’s can continue their use of the premises and operate whilst work is carried out.
The Big Lottery funding will ensure phase one can start and if any local companies would like to help in raising the money for the other phases please contact Mr Ron Davison on 320203.
