Minnie Puttock

Minnie was born on 16th May 1920 in Lowlands, Cockfield and celebrates her 100th birthday this weekend.

She attended Ramshaw School in Evenwood and went on to join the ATS in service at West Kirby in Anglesey as a cook in the officers mess.

Minnie met her Husband, Bill, in Lea-on-Sea and married in 1943 and had three children.

The couple moved to Newton Aycliffe in 1953 and lived in Henderson Road, Oakfield and Bewick Crescent. Minnie currently lives with her Daughter, Joy, in Oakfield.

Minnie was employed at Yardley and Flymo.

She enjoys meeting with friends at the RAFA Club and Methodist Wives Club.

The family has grown over the years to three grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
