Woodham Academy has been awarded over half a million pounds in capital funding following a successful bid to the Education Funding Agency. The funding is available to help schools with refurbishment costs and will finance the  final stage of roof replacement as well as necessary electrical improvements. Woodham has attracted significant backing in recent years and brings the total awarded to the school to almost £2M.

The school has also invested money in 4 state of the art science laboratories and sports facilities to improve learning environments. Further significant works are planned over the summer to improve changing rooms and toilet areas as the school prepares to welcome a new intake of students.

The allocation is over and above the normal grants used to pay for the day to day running of the school. Headteacher  Mrs Christine Forsyth commented, “This investment in infrastructure and teaching spaces will allow the school to provide the best possible environment for students to learn and enjoy extracurricular activities during their time at
Woodham”.
