During the World Cup we have been tasting foods from around the world and making a display about the World Cup.
On the first week of the World Cup we had Italian food for tea; we had Margarita pizza, pepperoni pizza, pineapple and ham pizza, garlic bread and a salad. The second week was French food; we had croissants, chocolate brioches, baguettes and Brie cheese.
As the World Cup progressed we sampled other World Cup related foods.
The display has been growing and growing throughout the World Cup, flags have been made and models have been built, all through the children’s knowledge and interests of the topic. Aa Lego football pitch has been made with Brazil on one side and England on another, two mobilo goals and a World Cup trophy to enhance the display’s creativity.
We made Lego flags, sorting them into groups and cancelling the ones that are out of the competition. We also recorded scores on a wall chart. At the end of the World Cup we had a presentation to award the top 4 winning teams that the lucky children drew out of the hat.
We were all disappointed about England’s loss but we support our team unconditionally. We hope next time England come through.
