Last weekend saw the culmination of months of hard work by local people to create “Quercus Live!” the finale to this year’s Great Aycliffe Show.
The performance went off without a hitch, including co-operation from the weather, with everyone involved and watching having a fantastic time. On Saturday and Sunday Greenfield Arts and two great local artists filled the “Quercus Live” marquee with lots of creative activity to prepare for the performance making leaves and flowers and also providing shelter from the bursts of rain – more than 400 people helped us create fantastic props to add to the performance.
We were also joined by the King of the Boggles, who spent the weekend visiting the show, speaking to the people of Aycliffe and promoting “Quercus Live” a big thank you to Daniel for playing the part of the King!
A big thank you to all of those involved for making “Quercus Live” such a success: dancers Stepping Out Dance School, aerialists from Circus Central, musicians from Brassy B, production by Bravura, making and production by local Cree volunteers, development by Greenfield Arts, funded by Great Aycliffe Town Council and GAMP AAP!
We are looking forward to next year’s Great Aycliffe Festival and hope to continue to develop community projects and performances!
