The drawing above shows the location of the development, refused by the County Council which Willmotts have appealed against and will be decided by Public Inquiry in January 2018. Access in and out of the new estate is only via the A167 which appears to cut these residents off from the town, apart from pedestrian access. This would be a real inconvenience to them accessing Aycliffe facilities, forcing cars onto the A167 to get to the town via Rushyford or Central Avenue, adding to the congestion on the A167.
