Dear Sir
The dark nights are upon us and again we end up with the problem of street lighting. I live in an area where there are a lot of elderly and vulnerable people and since the new street lighting has been installed the paths are in complete darkness.
We have a few social events in our community centre, but through the nights becoming darker people are becoming afraid of turning out.
All the new lights that have been installed are facing the road and there is not one to lighten up the footpath. When these lights were installed was during the day and I believe someone from the council should come in the evening to take a look to see for themselves.
Most of the homes here are sheltered housing. All of these lights are facing the road and I think the solution, if we have to keep these lights, is to turn them  to face the paths.
