Great Aycliffe Residents Association has over the years encouraged the formation of Residents’ Associations, seeing them as vital organisations to give people a voice.

The latest area to show an interest is AYCLIFFE VILLAGE and we urge residents to get behind the suggestion, which has shown by other associations to bring great benefit to the community.

Do you feel left behind by residents’ associations in Great Aycliffe?

Do you want a voice to represent you and your neighbours?

Do you fancy a building community spirit?

Do you fancy a day out without having to drive?

Do you feel something is missing from your village?

Have you some spare time and want to give a little back?

For many years groups such as ACORN, Horndale, Silverdale and Neville have taken advantage of lottery funding to build strong vibrant communities. Why should Aycliffe Village be different?

Ken Robson chair of ACORN supported by Phil Clark of Horndale, Arun Chandran secretary of GARA, Dorothy Bowman of Western and Heather Brewster of Neville Residents would like to demonstrate how to improve your village by forming a residents’ association.

All you need is a good heart and a desire to improve and preserve where you live with just a little of your spare time required.

It is intended to hold a public meeting to gauge support for the new group and to ask for volunteers to form a committee.
