Newton Aycliffe resident, Nigel Ould, has sensationally qualified for the Amateur World Cycling Championships, which will take place in Aalborg, Denmark, on 6th September 2015 over the lengthy distance of a 164km course.
Nigel qualified after taking part in the Tour of Cambridgeshire Gran Fondo, a 128km road race, where he finished 15th in his age group (55-59 year olds).  Nigel was in the Royal Artillery for nine years and had a distinguished career, seeing action in the Falklands War.  He has been a keen amateur cyclist for a number of years.  He is also a Great Aycliffe & Middridge Partnership Forum member, and member of the Aycliffe Velo Cycling Club.
