Saturday 27th October
Ebac Northern League Division One
Newton Aycliffe 0 v Consett 1

Newton Aycliffe lost out by a single goal to the league leaders on Saturday. The Steelmen’s winner came just before half time thanks to a fine volley from left back Darren Holden. Consett had the better of the first half forcing two good saves from Aycliffe keeper James Winter.
The second half saw a strong performance from Aycliffe but they were unable to convert their chances. Matty Pennal came on as a substitute for the home side & came closest to scoring with one effort ruled out for offside & another tipped over the bar by the Consett keeper.
Aycliffe finished the game disappointed not to take a point but can be heartened by the recent improvement in form.
Following a midweek home League Cup match against Bedlington Terriers, Aycliffe travel to Ryhope Colliery Welfare on Saturday 3 November, followed by a trip to Ashington on 10 November.
Meanwhile, Aycliffe’s Moore Lane ground plays host to two games with Newton Aycliffe Women’s Development team taking on Gateshead Rutherford on Sunday 4 November at 2:00pm, then Middlesbrough Under 15s host Newcastle Under 15s on Wednesday 7 November KO 6:30pm.
