Dear Sir,

What an amazing thing it is to be so well supported as the County Foodbank is in Newton Aycliffe. Week after week, generous donations are received from organisations and individuals in the Town and surrounding area, giving help to those in financial crisis.

The distribution point at St Clare’s regularly gives food to between 15 and 20 individuals and families each week. The volunteers could not achieve this without such wonderful community support.

Thank you so much to those who have donated from their Harvest Thanksgivings; Byerley Park, St Joseph’s, St Mary’s, Sugar Hill and Horndale Infant Schools. St Elizabeth’s, St Clare’s and Aycliffe Evangelical Churches. Churches Together, Rose Lodge, St Clare’s Court, Bethany House, Defoe Court and Aycliffe Care Home.

Staff in the Phone Shop at the local TESCO store organised a collection of Advent calendars for families in need of food; treats indeed! Over 70 calendars have been donated by staff and shoppers.

The 3 Day general food collection takes place in the TESCO Store, Newton Aycliffe, 30th November to 2nd December. Drop in to say ‘Hello’ and if you want to get involved phone Alison on 01325 300347.
