14 students from Woodham Academy’s Most Able Academy attended an Institute of Physics lecture at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College at the end of term. The lecture was presented by Dr Kate Lancaster, Plasma and Fusion Industrial Officer at The University of York. The lecture, entitled ‘The Extreme World of Ultra Intense Lasers’ was conducted as part of research ongoing at the university in to how lasers can be used to supply energy in the future. Woodham Academy students were invited to attend by Vice Principle of QE Steve Hunnisett who talked to the students about studying Physics at QE.
