Dear Sir,
The Furniture Scheme’s first advertisement was in the The Newtonian in 1970 when I lived at 2 Bewick Crescent.
It was shortly after that advert that I received a visit from the Aycliffe Development Corporation claiming they had received a complaint that I was running a business from my Council House.
After examining my accounts they were satisfied the furniture scheme was a charity and told me that I would be registered with the Local Authority.
