Greenfield Arts are opening their doors to celebrate the annual ‘Open Art’ exhibition. This year the preview evening will take on a playful theme offering exciting opportunities to get a taste for the arts and take part in a range of activities. The evening will welcome artists and tutors who will demonstrate their craft taking inspiration from ‘Play’.
The free event will be held on Wednesday 13th March from 18:00 – 20:00 and those attending the celebration event will get the first chance to visit the exhibition, featuring fabulous work from over thirty artists. Why not come along to see the exhibition and try something new for yourself.
Mixed Media artist Sharron Bates will be on hand to play with collage materials and create wonderful pieces of art. You can also get playful with languages, our popular Spanish classes run termly and tutor Daria Coates will demonstrate creative learning through games and exploring Spanish delicacies.
Tutor and artist Dawn Belshaw can often be found at Greenfield Arts inspiring young people and leading our popular Art Club and holiday activities. Dawn will be showing you how you can make wonderful art from recycled materials. Finally, there will be a chance to meet artist Richard Bliss who will let you into the secret of ‘The Quest for the Perfect Shirt’, Richard is a ground-breaking artist in the field of identity and gender stereotypes. This creative mix is sure to make for a very special event.
The evening is free and open to the public and there will be refreshments available. It is sure to be a creative and playful evening in a lovely environment – a great start to the annual exhibition!
