On Thursday 22nd June Year 10 students from Woodham Academy where given the chance to attend a Further Education event at New College Durham. The aim of the visit was to give students an insight into the life of a student and to understand the many benefits of further education and training. Upon arrival students were placed into option groups and given the opportunity to go and sample a class of their choice.
Options included Beauty Therapy, Brickwork, Motor Vehicle, Uniformed Services, and Art and Graphics. This was then followed by lunch where students had the choice of both cold and hot meals. The afternoon session then followed and students completed the day with a brief evaluation of their experience. The visit was a great success giving students an insight into some of the options available to them post 16.
