Northbridge Festival which takes place in Fishburn, County Durham has been nominated for Best Small Festival and Best Dance Event at the 13th annual UK Festival Awards. After just two years in operation, Northbridge Festival has secured its place in the nominees list for two incredible awards. The small electronic music festival has seen worldrenowned DJs such as Waze & Odyssey, Philip George and Sonny Fodera performing and partying at the event, and is the only festival in the North East to be nominated for Best Dance Event. Now, organiser Ben Tinkler and the team involved, are asking everyone to get behind them in their dream of putting their 500-capacity festival on the map. Ben, who grew up in Newton Aycliffe but now lives in Bolam said ‘It’s absolutely amazing just to be nominated for these awards, and to be in the same category as Creamfields is just unbelievable. It would be a dream come true to be shortlisted after working so hard over the past few years to make it a success, we just need anyone and everyone to please, please, vote for us’. The UK Festival Awards are highly regarded as one of the biggest nights in the festival industry calendar with the likes of Glastonbury and Creamfields also nominated for awards. The Awards night is an opportunity to recognise the hard work, vision and creativity of the festival industry. Voting is open to the public until Friday, October 28th with the awards ceremony taking place at the Roundhouse in London on November 28th. The ten festivals with the most votes in each category will be invited to the ceremony where the winners will be announced.
