Exam success at Woodham Academy is continuing with all students passing their exam in engineering.

More than half of the school’s engineering students achieved distinctions in components of the exam. The results follow on from Woodham Academy’s success in last year’s GCSEs, when the school recorded its best ever results.

The school’s engineering department has worked with major local employers Husqvarna and Gestamp Tallent to help students with their coursework.

Students have taken part in visits to both sites, conducting case studies, learning about career routes in the industry, and gaining experience of an engineering workplace.

Danny Morgans, Deputy Headteacher at Woodham Academy, said: “Woodham Academy has developed excellent relationships with key local employers, as part of our commitment to prepare all our students for life after school and provide the best possible chance of successful future careers.

“We are delighted with our latest exam results, which are continuing the success of our record-breaking results last year, and our engineering students should all be very proud of the progress they have made.”

The Year 11 students achieved a 100 percent pass rate in the exams. The latest round of exams constitutes 25 percent of their NCFE Level 2 qualification in engineering.
