Whoever said close season was boring? Darlington have already dipped into the transfer market signing the rather excellent Rob Youhill from Harrogate RA. Rob is a right winger and a former team mate of Nathan Cartman. Speaking of his time at RA, with Nathan, Rob said, “I would go down the right, cross them into the middle, and he would finish them off. We worked well together, and what’s more, we’re great friends off the pitch. There was a mutual benefit in our partnership. Hopefully we can re-create it again.”
Along with the signing of Youhill it’s good to see that Hatch, Dowson, Brown and, player of the year, Tom Portas have all signed new contracts. Like many Darlo fans I’m getting rather excited at the prospect of next season. Fortunately, we don’t have to wait too long as we are embarking on a rather full pre-season friendly programme:

Work is soon due to begin at Blackwell Meadows ready for when the football club makes the move there. It’s going to be an interesting couple of months for the Club and us fans.
