Sedgefield 75 swimmers travelled to Stanley last weekend to compete in the Annual Christmas Cracker Gala.

Sedgefield brought home a total of 24 medals and 40 personal best times, as well as selection boxes for all heat winners, which was a real treat.

This was the last gala of the year for Sedgefield and 18 swimmers took part in a total of 83 swims.

Competing were:

Katelyn Craig, Emma Price, Chloe Harding, Kathryn Lee, Zoe Hodgson, Charlotte Lee, Leah Smith, Ethan Craig, Lucas Daley, Oliver Turnbull, James Hodgson, Robert Price, Matthew Wimbury, Thomas Curran, Aaron Stephenson, Mateusz Wilczynski, Lewis Turnbull and Charlie McEwan.

Head Coach John Moore attended the gala all weekend with Assistant Coach Emma Craig and Team Manager Cheryl Price.

John was proud of all the swimmers and particularly how the older swimmers looked after the younger members of the team throughout the gala.

Chloe Harding and Zoe Hodgson also took part in a school gala this week, held at St John’s School and Sixth Form College at Bishop Auckland.

Zoe took first place in the Year 7 50 free and Chloe took first place in the Year 7/8 50 back, Year 8 50 back, Year 8 50 free and the medley relay.

The swimmers are all looking forward to a fun Christmas party at the end of December at Bamboozles, as a reward for all their hard work in training this year.

Well done Sedgefield 75 for an amazing year.
