churches together 2Representatives from Churches Together in Great Aycliffe met on Wednesday 6th December in St. Clare’s church hall to officially present three charities with cheque/cash donations, the proceeds of a recent Quiz Night. The Aycliffe Food Bank received a cash donation of £125 received by Alison Firby. The Women’s Refuge received a cheque for £125 received by Gwen Morrison on their behalf. The Youth Centre received a cheque for £150 received by Rebecca Metcalfe, the Youth Centre Manager.

Tesco are already a great supporter of the Food Bank and some of their staff turned up with boxes of chocolates to donate to the Food Bank.

These are especially welcome at this time of the year as Food Banks are not allowed to spend cash donations on luxury items like chocolates. So, a big thank you to Tesco from CTGA and the Food Bank.
