Sedgefield Racecourse is delighted to host the first day of the Cheltenham Festival live on large screen. On Tuesday, March 14 the racecourse will open its gates to thousands of people looking forward to a days racing with a difference! Andy Bell, director of Bookies.com, an online betting site, has kindly sponsored the event offering free bets throughout the festival.

Jill Williamson, Executive Director at Sedgefield Racecourse, added: “The Cheltenham Festival is the highlight of the Jumps calendar, and a meeting that attracts a huge amount of interest from people up and down the country. It is an honour to show seven live races from Sedgefield then switch direct to the first day of the Cheltenham Festival via large screen.”

“For those of us who unfortunately cannot attend Cheltenham this year, the opportunity is still available to come racing locally and enjoy the atmosphere. It is definitely worth considering and to end the evening why not stay and celebrate with the Stone Idols live in the Paxtons Stand.”

The first race is currently scheduled for 1.20pm with the first race at Cheltenham at 1.30pm live on the big screen and the last at Sedgefield at 5.10pm.

Tickets are available now, with advance admission starting from £14 and various packages available. Concessions are £8 for OAP’s and students, available to purchase on the day of racing with valid identification. Parking is free.
