The stall in aid of ‘National Cervical Screening Awareness Week’ held at Tesco last week was well received. It was manned throughout the day by  Dr Hewitt and Nurses from Bewick Crescent and Peaseway surgeries. We had rotas and where able to book 16 appointments who were overdue with their sample, and also saw ladies who wished book an appointment. Patients from Cobblers Hall Surgery were encouraged to also make appointments.

The reception staff at Bewick Surgery wore Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust T-shirts  on the day, and many ladies made appointments. The stall was busy will lots of interest, questions and support from male and female customers. Overall it was a well attended event to raise awareness and promote cervical screening. Unintentionally customers offered money so we raised £63 for Jo’s Trust Charity.
