Sedgefield Racecourse is due to host a raceday which is proving to be one of the busiest days of their racing season.

For one year only, guests at the racecourse will have the chance to enjoy seven live races at Sedgefield, teamed with televised action from Aintree via a large screen at the course. The Grand National Saturday fixture on the 9 April at Sedgefield, will get started at 12:05pm and includes a Class 3 Mares Handicap Hurdle race with a total prize fund of £10,000 plus a live band performance from the Gangsters of Ska after racing in the main Paxtons Stand.

Due to growing demand and sold out packages, a special Beer and Balti package has been introduced offering racegoers admission into the Hospitality Suite, a pint of beer or lager with a curry lunch.

Jill Williamson, Executive Director at Sedgefield Racecourse, added: “We’re thrilled to be able to bring the Grand National Saturday fixture to Sedgefield this year, offering guests a Saturday of racing which proves to be very popular with racing fans and those looking for something to do.

Jill Williamson, “It is a great opportunity for people who unfortunately cannot attend Aintree to come racing locally and enjoy the atmosphere. The afternoon will be topped off with live music from The Gangsters of Ska after racing.”

The Beer and Balti package is available for just £40* per person and tables are available in the restaurant for £87*
