We had a great week last week at Greenfield Arts for October Half Term. Art Club, Messy Play and our Art session for The Big Draw were a great success, with much messy and creative fun had by all! Families created delicious seasonal food with Season to Taste, and spent Halloween watching a scary film on our Room 13.
A highlight of the week saw some of Greenfield’s STEM club return to the “Curiosity” Project which recently won the Engaging Young People Award at the National Engage Awards in London. Part of their prize for the fantastic performance of “What If…?” was some additional funding to expand and continue the project. The young people involved decided to create a short film and animation, continuing the theme of curiosity.
On Friday during half term the young people were joined by film maker Sheryl Jenkins and staff from Durham University to create the film, which will be showcased at a national conference in December and on the Greenfield Arts Vimeo page (www.vimeo.com/GreenfieldArts).
After this great week we are now planning our Christmas activities for families and young people – keep an eye on our website www.greenfield-arts.co.uk for the programme when its ready!
