Students and staff at Woodham Academy raised more than £160 for MacMillan Cancer Support at a coffee morning at the school.
Woodham Academy arranged the event following a request from parent Angie Williams, who helps out each week at the school’s ‘Let’s Get Cooking’ club. The club baked biscuits and cakes for the coffee morning, and Mrs Williams brought in fudges and cake to sell. The event, hosted by catering manager Linda Vipond and kitchen staff, raised a total of £161.70.
Mrs Williams said: “I was very impressed at how well the children have done and feel very proud of what they achieved. The school is brilliant – all the staff are just great in every way. I want to thank everyone for their hard work.”
